About Healing Trauma 101 class

How will class help you?

It will provide map for your healing journey

This 8 weeks long class will help you understand how trauma affected you and what you can do about it. Through exercises and journaling prompts you will be able to create your own map/plan for healing and learn tools that are necessary to support it. There is no need to continue suffering when you have the power to heal and necessary information and tools to use that power.

What will you learn?

Week 1: Introduction: How to get the most out of the class. Relaxing Place Visualization. Week 2: Trauma & Nervous System: How trauma affect nervous system. Tools to jumpstart healing. Week 3: Trauma and Brain Week 4: Impact of Trauma on a survivor Week 5: Coping with aftermath of trauma Week 6: How does healing journey look like? Understanding the big picture and assessing where you are at. Tasks 1-2 Week 7: How does healing journey look like? (part 2). Understanding tasks 3-6 Week 8: How does healing journey look like? (part 3). Understanding tasks 7-10. Putting it all together.

Irina Diyankova

Dr. Irina Diyankova is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Knoxville, TN. She specializes in the treatment of complex and developmental trauma. Dr. Diyankova has been in mental health filed since 1994. She has professional degrees from both Russian and American Universities. Her latest degree was Ph.D. in counseling Psychology from Iowa State University in Ames, IA (2008). She mostly uses Internal Family Systems as her approach to treating her clients; however, she has been trained in other approaches, which she integrates as well. Dr. Diyankova has presented on trauma, neuroscience and treatment of trauma to both professional and lay audiences. For the past 5 years she taught continuing education courses for mental health professionals on neuroscience of trauma and use of yoga in treatment. In her personal life, Dr. Diyankova loves nature and travel. She practices yoga for her own mental health. She is married and lives with her husband and their cat. Her young adult daughter lives in Columbus, OH.
